The canine shoulder and scapula often present diagnostic dilemmas. Due to compensation and weight shifting, it can be hard to see which leg is the primary lameness, and then with limited and difficult access to palpate the muscles around the shoulder and scapula it can be almost impossible to pinpoint the diagnosis. Imaging using CT or MR may be difficult to access or afford, and may still not show where the problem lies.
Join Dr Laura Lee for a fascial approach to the shoulder (glenohumeral joint) and scapula. Following fascial lines and planes of the various muscles Dr Lee will help you pinpoint where the lesion lies. Veterinary integrative fascial therapy (VIFT) can help to relax the area and provide access for further manual healing techniques, or the use of a laser or acupuncture techniques. You will learn fascial techniques for accessing the shoulder joint and scapular muscles, both laterally, cranially and medially under the scapula. Cases from the Dr Lee's practice will also be presented.
