Refunds for Cancellation/Withdrawal:
To withdraw from a course students should complete a Course Withdrawal form.
Refunds can be granted for course fees paid, less a $250 administration fee per module (note that some courses have more than one module), provided advice of withdrawal is received in writing 14 days prior to the commencement date of the unit or course whether on-line or face-to-face. NOTE: Once you have logged into your on line classroom, your course is deemed to have commenced and no refund is available. Refunds may take two to three weeks to process.
If a course or module or unit of study or seminar or workshop is cancelled by the College of Integrative Veterinary Therapies, a full refund is provided including any Enrolment Fee. For multi-modular courses, where a student may have undertaken only part of their agreed training and the course is cancelled by the College of Integrative Veterinary Therapies, a full refund is provided including any Enrolment Fee.
Please note, that should a student exceed the course maximum time allowable plus allowable extensions (see below for details) they will be removed from their course with no fees refundable regardless of whether or not they have accessed all course material/modules.
Transfers:
In multi-modular courses a transfer is defined as a change from one module to the next within the same course. No fee applies to transfers if the course fees are fully paid or the student has set up an active instalment payment plan. Please note that there are maximum periods of study for each course, unit or module. Exceeding the agreed period of study may incur an 'extension of time' fee. Please note that in multi-modular courses, progression to further modules is based on the satisfactory completion of prior modules i.e. progression is sequential.
Transfer between different courses is not an option in normal circumstances.
Course Extension of Time:
There are maximum periods of study for each course, unit or module. Exceeding the agreed period of study may incur an 'extension of time' fee. For any unit or module an extension may be granted equal to the allowable maximum for that particular unit e.g. for a course with 6 months maximum access, the student may apply for a single extension of no more than 6 months; for longer courses (over 1 year) a student may apply for extensions equal to the total nominated maximum course time e.g. for a 2 year course a student may apply for course extensions of up to 2 years maximum.
If courses are not completed within these absolute limits then students may be required to re-enrol into the course and pay the full fee.
Deferment or Leave of Absence:
Students wishing to defer their studies or take a 'leave of absence' need to complete the appropriate form.
The term deferment applies to suspending course access for a period of time up to 1 year (negotiable based on circumstances). You may be asked for documentary evidence to support your deferral request. Routinely, a 'leave of absence' due to family or work commitments will be granted for up to 3 months without a requirement for documentary evidence. We rely on professional honesty in this process. Leave of absence is limited to 3 months per year unless negotiated with the RTO manager.
During a deferral or leave of absence the student will no longer have access to their course. The period of deferment or leave of absence is not included in the overall time taken by the student for course completion. Students paying for their course by installments must continue their payments during leave of absence or deferral.
