Dr. Chapman is a 1991 graduate of the Virginia Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. She has always practiced in Virginia(USA), first as a private practitioner for 10 years and then served 15 years in public practice in shelter medicine. Before returning to private clinical practice, Monica heeded the call of western herbal medicine and began her formal education in plant medicine first studying under human herbalists and then found her way home to the College of Integrative Veterinary Therapies(CIVT).
Monica earned her Graduate Diploma in Veterinary Western Herbal Medicine(GDip VWHM) from CIVT in January 2017 and joined the faculty as a teacher and mentor in the Essentials of Veterinary Western Herbal Medicine course. Monica is an integrative practitioner in conventional practice, has a separate herbal practice, and is also a licensed hemp grower and producer seeking to make a full spectrum, high CBD, low THC whole plant extract product for her patients to use alongside all the other wonderful plant allies.
