Dr. Cindy Maro began practicing over 38 years ago and is happy to say that she still loves veterinary practice – she credits her enthusiasm to the lifelong learning provided by integrative vet medicine and the sacred healing connection she shares with her patients.
Dr. Maro says her love for healing and vet medicine began when working with many species on her family’s farm while growing up in Ohio. Her mentors were the animals and the veterinarians she worked with, including an older brother, Dr. Rob Maro.
Her early practice included working in mixed animal and ER practice, and evolved to fully integrative small animal care. She currently provides surgery, dentistry and medical care, and provides acupuncture, Qi Gong, animal chiropractic, veterinary massage and rehabilitative care, essential oils, Reiki, herbology, Bach Flowers, Ozone therapy, Innovarius Sanawave, integrative oncology, Clinical Nutrition and Veterinary NAET.
She has been a member of AHVMA since 1988, a Lifetime Founding member of AVCA and prior Board member of AVCA. She currently serves on the AHVMA COE and the Board of Directors.
Dr. Maro has lectured at prior AHVMA and AVCA conferences, in addition to several vet schools, vet tech and pre-vet programs. Dr. Maro served as the Chief of Staff and taught veterinary technician students at Median School of Veterinary Technology in Pittsburgh.
Currently, she is the Medical Director of Cranberry Holistic Pet Care and Ellwood Animal Hospital in Western PA and provides integrative care to dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, pocket pets, and chickens.
She is currently the Medical Director of VDI Labs and a regular contributing writer for the The Beaver County Times.
She volunteers and provides support for Rosebud Indian Reservation, and Sinte Gleska University on the Lakota Reservation, both in South Dakota.
Dr. Maro loves biking, hiking, gardening, dancing, Zumba, Pilates, writing, comedy, trying new foods/flavors, volunteering, in addition to exploring spirituality and spending time with her adult children, and her huge extended family!
